Stewardship

Dear Parishioners of St. Michael and All Angels,

I am pleased to announce that we are nearing the end of our first ever Stewardship Drive. On Pentecost Sunday we had an ingathering of pledge cards, which asked for a commitment from the parish to support our budgeted operating expenses for the balance of 2018 and all of 2019. I am pleased to announce that we have received pledges that cover 74% of the amount budgeted for that period. We have a few pledge cards still out which could raise that percentage.

As you will recall, we voted to make a leap of Faith and dip into our reserves to make the necessary changes to give our church the opportunity to grow our congregation of communicant members. The budget numbers we shared during the stewardship drive are the amounts we believe the church will need to pay our operating costs, along with some program expenses for greater exposure of our church in the community. There is no money in the budget for capital item expenses or sanctuary improvements. Generous people have furnished many of the new items that have adorned our sanctuary and enhanced the beauty and sanctity of our worship service.

As we go forward, we hope that your support will continue to grow and that you will bring your friends and neighbors to witness our faithful style of worship and loving approach to a family church community. As you review items in our budget that can be covered by special gifts, such as flowers for the altar, hospitality items or any need you feel you can fill, we welcome your participation.

In closing, I would like to say that the response has been very encouraging, and the high percentage of participation is remarkable, when compared to other stewardship drives I have seen. With all your help, we can continue St. Michael and All Angels on a path of growth and Gospel driven worship. We thank God for the gift of the Holy Spirit which surely dwells within our church!

Faithfully,

Tom Deupree, Stewardship Chairman
