A Prayer for Nashville

Eternal God and Creator,

We give you thanks this day for the blessings you have bestowed upon your people. May your holy name be praised for the gift of eternal life we receive through your Grace. We pray to you this day asking for your mercy to be shown to those in the Nashville, Tennessee area who have awakened to the devastation of tornadoes and storms. Many have lost everything except your love for them. We lift them up to you and ask you to allow them to feel your love and be given assurance of your mighty hand in their recovery. Let them not be alone. Bless those in leadership positions in the community and the first responders who are doing such difficult work. Bless them, we pray.

For those who have lost loved ones we pray that you will give them “the peace that passes all understanding” that they may rest in you and be ministered to by your Holy Spirit. Surround them with your Holy Angels, we ask, that they may not walk the path of grief alone. In Paradisum  – “May the angels lead them into paradise; may the martyrs receive them at their arrival and lead them to the holy city Jerusalem. May choirs of angels receive them and with Lazarus, once (a) poor (man), may they have eternal rest.”

In the name of Jesus Christ, the Shepherd of the Sheep,

Amen.
